It is not always easy to find a company and school to make your vocational training or “Ausbildung” or in other words “apprenticeship” . Especially, if your country of residence is outside of EU, it will be complicated to set up face to face meetings with companies. In this case you would apply for “Visa for Seeking Vocational Training”. But please be noted that one of the requirements to obtain such a visa is to be younger than 25, if you don’t have very specific case.
The visa you will receive is usually valid for 6 months. After your entry into Germany, you will be free to search for apprenticeship location and a vocational school. Once you have found the job and the school, you can apply for a residence permit and separate visa for vocational training.
Required documents to apply visa for seeking vocational training:
- Your current resume in German.
- A letter of motivation in German explaining why you want to study in Germany,
- Document from your home country stating that you are eligible for studying in an university. You can use the result of the university examination for this purpose.
- Translated copies of your transcript and your diploma from your recent school
- A document proving your German language skills, min B2 level.
- Evidence(s) that you will be able to support yourself in Germany. Blocked bank account, etc.
- A valid health insurance in Germany and other Schengen countries
- Your passport (original)
- Biometric photos
